Have you guys noted a stronger signal on WWAA 1690 AM?
I heard commercials this morning saying that they were boosting the power/output.

2. I wish. I can barely get that station and even then only during the day.

I get 1530 from Ohio better than the Atlanta station.

3. I haven't tried it lately because I can't get any
reception from that station. either at home, in my car or the office. So I certainly hope they boost the power. I work in Marietta and live in Woodstock and it won't come in at either location.

4. the tower is complete, the transmitter is ready...
...they're just waiting to get all the kinks ironed out.

I predict their power will go up Monday AM.

5. good cuz it seems like all it takes is
a strong wind to disrupt the signal. i'm in withdrawal from missing randi on my evening drive.

6. Finally tuned in...
...and got decent signal in town. However, it faded to near-unlistenability as I drove home, west of town, by about the Thornton Road exit.

Must be about a 50-watt station. AM is supposed to be good state-to-state.

8. in the AJC
They said something about a new transmitter or whatever should be done in 10 days. That was the end of last week. So it should get better soon. Hopefully, they will act like a real damn radio station and get a web site and actually advertise. They are out of Avondale Estates, so the west side of the city seems most lacking. I work in Conyers, and live in Covington, and I usually get it ok. Since daylight savings, I don't get it real well in the mornings though. Hopefully it will improve. The signal is really preventing more people from checking it out, which is surprising, because one of the owners (investors??) lives in the Atlanta area.

Kevin.

9. They need a billboard!
If WGKA 920 AM can have billboards that say "Liberals Hate It!", Air America should have ones that say, "Radio for Smart People" or similar.

10. agreed
I don't live in the Atlanta area, but it sounds like AA didn't exactly make a textbook entry into the market.

12. Liberals hate it? really?
Funny, 920 is the only RW station I'll check out now and again. Bill Bennett and Mike Medved may be jackasses, but they're not especially hateful a la WSB 750s Savage, Hannity and Rush.

15. I actually live in Avondale Estates
And the signal is sometimes bad right here.

Most of the time it is decent in Avondale Estates and Decatur, but when you hit Emory it just statics out to nothing about 50% of the time.

Sigh.
