I just hear Ga is going to try to pass a bill to charge for 911 calls.
It was on our local news tonight. They want to charge $1.50 for each 911 cell phone call to help offset the costs.

Can they do that?

I thought it was possible to make a 911 call from a cell phone, even if you didn't have service for that phone. Emergency...REMEMBER!

What in the world are the PUbs doing to our state?

2. What happened to the 911 tax on everyone's phone bill?
The 911 phone tax is supposed to fund the system. Is it somehow being siphoned off to Halliburton?

3. This Bill
has been trying to pass for years. It's to curb people who call 911 for reasons outside of emergency status and to make up for the cost of the 911 employees who are now carrying the load of their former 911 coworkers. Its bogus either way. Some people have even gotten busy signals calling 911 after lay offs. It sucks, and it has gone on for far too long. ;(

5. Guess it's time to call my Rep AGAIN!
I hadn't heard of this before, and it really surprised me that some idiots would try to do it. ure didn't know they've been trying to do it for a while.

I'll call tomorrow and explain the facts of life to them AGAIN! Sometimes those things escape the brain of the legislators in Ga.

Then, there will be enough money to fund the 9/11 service.

phoning to report accidents, people stranded after an automotive break down, vehicles or buildings on fire, forest fires, livestock in the road, etc.
