4. What about minority owned businesses
God know we can't blame the African American community for this debacle, they stood in line for hours to vote for Kerry. Around 90% voted Dem.

5. Mmmm...good point!
I should start looking around to see who owns what, and what services they offer and give them my business.

6. Papa Johns & Dominoes

I think that they're owned by fundies. Could anyone confirm?

Edit: The Locos restaurant chain is owned by a Republican. The party holds meetings at the Athens eastside location.

7. Please post this info
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 08:57 AM by fudge stripe cookays
in the "Progressive Pages- Need Your Input" thread!

Several of us are compiling a giant local and nationwide directory of where NOT to shop, and where to go instead.

Thanks for any info you Georgians can provide!

8. Coca-Cola contributed quite a bit to the Dems in Ga.
The one retailer who is really a fundie is Hobby Lobby. I will keep searching.

9. Natural foods stores should be OK, right?
I'm assuming that Life Grocery in Marietta and Sevananda in Little Five Points are OK. If anyone has information to the contrary, please let me know.

Publix, as far as I can tell, is the biggest Republican donor in the grocery store biz. Just about anywhere should be better than going there. I'm currently researching Ingle's to see if they might be a reasonable alternative, for those times when I can't get to Life Grocery or Sevananda.

10. I remember seeing a food feature
several years ago on Food Network or one of those types of shows. It might have even been on PBS.

It was a very friendly bakery type restaurant in Atlanta; I want to say it was black-owned, but not positive. They had lots of great home cooking, and made all their baked goods from scratch.

Steady very regular clientele, had been open for a number of years...seems like it was a historical building; Argh. I'm drawing a blank on the name. The owner seemed very cool. If anyone has a clue as to the place, this seems like a good biz to support.
