Please help us use our Sun in the Sunshine State - Solar Power initiative!
from act for change:

Tell Governor Crist to Support Solar Energy
With so much at stake from global warming, Florida's got to take the lead in eliminating greenhouse gas pollution. It's time to get serious about clean energy.

Governor Crist took a first step in the right direction over the summer, surprising everyone by rejecting a draft law on clean energy that he said was too weak, and demanding a bigger plan. Vote Solar has developed that plan -- The Florida Solar Roofs Initiative.

PUT THE SUN IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
Help get Governor Crist to back the Florida Solar Roofs Initiative

With so much at stake from global warming, Florida's got to take the lead in eliminating greenhouse gas pollution. The Florida Solar Roofs Initiative is the way to do it. It will:

Generate enough pollution-free solar power to cut out 20 coal-fired power plants;
Help pay for solar panels on the roof of every house and business that wants them;
Save Floridians money on utility bills, running electricity meters backwards where solar is installed;

Keep it all affordable -- program costs are capped at less than 1% of utility revenues.

The usual suspects are working hard to gut any real move to renewable energy. If you want a sane, clean energy future, it's time to stand up and be counted.

1. Joined up... I have a small solar system on my roof
it currently powers a fan and a couple lights in my bedroom, but I've plans to expand over time. :-)

2. we built our house - we weren't even allowed to install better windows.
they told us we could do it AFTER closing - even if we paid THE BUILDER to do it.
