Liberty City marchers say 'Enough is enough' to gun violence
Carrying signs that read ''Say no to gangs'' and ''Enough is enough,'' a crowd of more than 100 people marched down Liberty City's Unity Boulevard early Saturday morning to call attention to the continuing gun violence among young people in Miami-Dade.

''This is a march for peace,'' said David Jenkins, whose 9-year-old daughter Sherdavia was killed by a stray bullet in the crossfire of a gun battle last July. ``I'm seeking peace not just for my children, but for every man, woman and child.''

The little girl's death sparked an emotional public outcry and galvanized much of Miami. The police immediately embarked on an aggressive investigation, which culminated last year with the arrest of two men.

Alongside Jenkins was his surviving daughter, Catherine, 8. He also has three other children.

''She's a little shy,'' Jenkins said as Catherine hid her face in his jacket. 'But in 20 years she can look back and say, `I was there to make a difference.' ''
