FORT LAUDERDALE -- Still basking in the glow of last fall's election, the Democratic takeover of Congress early this month, and last week's ahead-of-schedule completion of their 100 hours agenda, three South Florida members of Congress said Monday they'd press to change the status quo in Washington.

Much of that change was evident simply in the three Democrats -- U.S. Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Weston, Alcee Hastings of Miramar and Ron Klein of Boca Raton -- taking part in the ceremonial swearing in at the federal courthouse in Fort Lauderdale.

1. Ron Klein's my district
I was very happy to oust Clay Shaw last election.

That said, I'm still on the fence about just how good a rep Klein will be. On the other hand, I'm a huge fan of Wasserman-Schultz. She rocks.

2. Klein has struck me as a moderate, centrist Dem
I'm not expecting him to be a liberal like Wasserman-Schultz. Although Klein has shown an exceptional ability to raise money, the GOP will preliminarily target him for defeat in 2008.
