We'll have a cabinet position when we didn't have any before (yea, Alex!) and we have a couple more congressional seats. Not great, but it is some progress.

1. Yeah I was disappointed too -
Voting repub to me is voting for torture, killing, war and a decrease in over all life for the planet - less parks. They rather spend trillions on bombs and bullets than on health care, education, and the elderly

2. Yeah. I'm trying not to dwell on the negative
Because over all the night was so good for Democrats. But I'm pretty disappointed in many of my fellow Floridians. What would possess anyone to vote for Crist?? For any Republican??

I'm thrilled that the two congressional districts next to mine (FL-16 and FL-22) dumped the bad guys. In 2001, the Republicans in the state house carved up my county so that there were 2 Republican safe disticts and Wexler's district, right in the middle of all that. Now, Wexler's district is a REALLY safe Democratic district, but they picked up the Foley and Clay Shaw districts.

Shows them that sometimes... people matter more than their tries at grabbing and holding on to power.

3. Savor State House 36
I volunteered with the Scott Randolph campaign. State House 36 is supposed to be a Democratic seat, but the incumbent was a bit of a DINO who earlier this year took her rightful place in the Republican party.

Her opponent, a true Democrat, ran a largely grass roots campaign. The Republicans spend 1 million dollars to try and keep this seat, they were hoping to use it to persuade other moderate Democrats to jump ship.

No sale.

I'm very happy about this. I guess sometimes rock covers paper.

6. Yeah but it's the next best thing to Jeb Bush
I'll tell you it's was a decent day for Dems in FL, just a shame we couldn't pick Katherine Harris's old seat, that was a heartbreaker for me.
