Poll sign fight goes to appeals court (Foley/Negron)
A state appeals court agreed Thursday to hear arguments about whether notices should be posted at polling places telling voters a ballot cast for former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley counts for fellow Republican Joe Negron, a state representative from Stuart.

Attorneys for the Florida Secretary of State and Republican Joe Negron appealed Wednesday's decision by Leon County Circuit Judge Janet E. Ferris in favor of Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Karen Thurman that such signs are not permitted under state law.

The arguments will be heard no later than Monday in the First District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee. Monday is the first day of early voting in the state.
