CONFESS!!! Did you vote? Who'd you vote for?
I cast my votes for Davis, Ehrlich, Chiari, etc. today ... hope y'all got out and voted!

As far as the national campaigns we all voted on, I went with Ehrlich because Campbell's a crook -- but then again, the very fact that Ehlich is running is just another example of Campbell's crookery. So what the hell.

As for Davis, policy-wise, he and Smith are pretty close. I went with Davis because, since he's from Tampa, he has a better chance of getting votes in the I-4 corridor, which will likely decide the November gubernatorial election. After being practically unable to decide between the two on policy, I went with electability.

So ... what say y'all?

2. I voted for Davis
Smith keeps on trying to say that he's the most "Electable" candidate. I'm not saying it's not true, but supporters of Bill McBride in 2002 were saying the same thing in 2002. Even though Smith was a former state attorney, I think "Chain Gang Charlie" has the tough on crime vote locked up.

I voted for Campbell. I'd never heard anything bad about him. Frankly, I don't know anything except for that he was a state senator. From what I read, it looked like his opponent was a late entry and didn't have much experience.

Voted for Shirley Brown, school Board and also Jim Lawless! The others on the ballot were non-partisan or Rethugs... so I voted for the one whose name I least recognized!!!

9. Oh where to begin...
well, to start with, Ehrlich is a Campbell crony who only ran so that there would be a Democratic primary, thus getting Campbell's name outto the the masses.

While in Tallahassee, he wrote some truly hideous bills. The bill removing state protection on wetlands comes immediately to mind, as does the bill forcing welfare mothers to list their sexual partners in the newspaper.

He's strongly pro-life, has an extremely bad environmental record, was one of only two Democrats tapped to run a committee by the Republicans in the GOP-controlled state senate, and actually voted with the Republicans to allow Jeb to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube (at least in committee -- when it came to the floor he voted against the bill he had approved earlier.) Can't wait for him to say something like "I voted to keep Terri alive, before I voted to let her die." Christ.

Campbell's only saving grace is that he's a damned fire-breathing liberal compared to his Republican opponent, Bill McCollum, who, in any reasonable world, would have been committed to the nuthouse a long time ago.

I think he has a better chance against Crist. I used the same reasoning as you about the Tampa connection.
