Interesting Article Re: Randolph Vs. Self (FL-36)
Edited on Sat Sep-02-06 05:33 PM by iamjoy
"Democrats Scott Randolph and Eben Self are vying for the Democratic nomination; whoever wins the primary Tuesday will face McInvale on Nov. 7. In the past week, the accusations flying back and forth between Randolph and Self have been enough to make any Democrat's head spin."

"Randolph, a lawyer for an environmental-advocacy group, has sent out two mailings suggesting that if Self is elected, he might follow McInvale's lead and switch to the Republican Party, too. "The last thing we need is another Republican in Democrat's clothing," the mailing reads."

"...Self has contributed to the campaign of Republican Charlie Crist, that more than half his contributions come from Republicans or contributors to Republican candidates, and that a campaign consultant is a Republican."

"Self has fired back with a mailing that reveals Randolph was a member of the Green Party until July 2004 and has never voted in a Democratic primary in Florida."

Does Self really think that in a heavily Democratic district having once been a member of the Green Party is a bad thing? Besides, the article does point out that Randolph was a Democrat for years, switched briefly Green and back to Democrats. I trust green more than I trust red.

Sherri McInvale is the incumbent. She was a Democrat (just like Joe Lieberman) and this year switched to the Republican Party.

When I say "just like Joe Lieberman" I don't mean she kissed Bush's butt or issue by issue, I mean she was a Democrat just a little too cozy with Republicans.
