Occupy Tallahassee Planning Protest at Florida's Capitol
Jim Turner's blog | Posted: October 10, 2011 3:08 PM
The Occupy Wall Street movement is heading to Florida’s Capitol.

Occupy Tallahassee has posted on its Facebook page that “peaceful protests” against “corporate greed” are planned for Oct. 14 and 15 at the state Capitol.

With an eye on the evening news cycle, the Occupy Tallahassee webpage advised those who intend to join the protest to be on the lawn before 5 p.m.

“As we work on acquiring our permit, we will protest daily until we may occupy a park nearby,” the group states on its website Occupytallahassee.org. “Currently, we are working on collecting supplies as well as connections with the surrounding businesses, so we may use the bathroom and find electricity.”

Tallahassee is the site of Florida's capitol. It is also
the
site of power grabs by Big Business that corrupt our chief
politicians so that they refuse to advance the legislation
that would benefit the "little people", male and
    female alike.
Occupiers at the Florida capital city might look at the
downtrodden of the downtrodden, THE MAJORITY OF FLORIDIANS
and AMERICANS--it's 52% of the public, the FEMALES. It's
no
news that females are second class citizens. Let's DO
    something about it, after millennia!

The Occupy Tallahassee should consider including the irate
88% of the public who decry capitol politicians, the
"leadership", who are beholden for campaign
funds
to greedy corporations who deny working women's wages that
equal men's for the same job.

Women are not mentioned in the nation's contract with its
people, the US Constitution. That allows corporations to
be
held as "persons" but not American
    "females". Females are still considered
possessions
of men, and denied their birthrights in the Constitution,
making it a longstanding habit of putting females at the
back
of the American bus. But the Speaker of the House and
Senate
President denying even so much as a vote on the Equal
Rights
Amendment bills that have been filed continually for 10
years
is throwing females UNDER the bus. All so Corporate
America
can continue to pay them only 72% of a male's wages for
the
    same job!

Women are not only part of the 99%, but live at the BOTTOM
of
it ! The ERA benefits men, too. Occupying the Florida
capitol for the ERA should be embraced by the current
Occupiers for the same reason they protest. The principles
are the same, and the results horrible in these days of
Moms
working harder for less because Dad was fired...all
because
the capitol is full of those joined at the hip with
Corporatists. Are women VALUED by Occupiers? If Occupiers
are egalitarians, then they will champion the Equal Rights
Amendment added to the Constitution, and add ERA to the
protests. Any Tally Occupyer can email SandyO@PassERA.org
with an invitation to join...THEN, you'll like what
happens!
