Fire Karen Thurman Website
Website calls for firing Karent Thurman. It's not about this year's debacle. It's about the fact that she has had 6 or 8 years to right the ship. In 2008, when Barack Obama won Florida our down-ballot candidates didn't do anything. Obama won several state Senate districts that Republicans carried at the state level. That tells me the votes are there for us but we couldn't capitalize. Karen needs to be fired for this. I don't even think she can take credit for Florida going Blue in 2008. That was Obama by himself. I say get someone from South Florida - Broward or Palm Beach to run the party. That is where the heart of the Democratic Party is. The Dems are powerful down there. They've got it going on. It's time to transfer their organization to the I-4 corridor. If that happens, this state goes Blue!!!!

Pass this along to other Dems!

2. The heart may be in S. Florida, but you put yourself in a bubble and can't win statewide.
The problem is people who run and win in S. FLa. don't realize that is because it is rich in dem vote. If you are from there...why is your campaign office there for a larger race? That is now how you get known to the rest of the state. We need someone from the I-4, not so north as Thurman. Pinellas or Orlando?

And s. fla candidates running statewide need to pack up and open an office in another part of the state...to get known...and get the work done. the rest of the state is not s. fla.

That is why Rod Smith in 2006 opened his office in S. Fla...cuz he was from the north and they knew him. He did not need to be there. Dan Gelber should have had a Tampa office..and we begged him. Why is he set up in s. fla where he always wins??????? Get it?

I propose Al Grayson lead the party.....a REAL DEMOCRAT. that is another thurman problem. she works with the republicans monthly and demoralizes us. It is bill nelson, the defacto chair of the state party...and he shoved her down our throat twice...and got rid of opposition. she was appointed twice. So it is HIM...we need to get past...and don't take any of his recommendations for chair. These people are DINOS!

3. Karen Thurman and Bill Nelson both need to go.
They are incompetent, crooked, and demoralizing dems. I'm not giving any money to the FDP until Thurman is gone.

4. I Certainly Can SECOND That! Big Problems With Both! Nelson Has
always embraced far too many RW'ers and if I'm not mistaken is one of those that meets regularly with those Christians weirdos in D.C.!

Thurman, well there's plenty to say, but why bother? This state has gotten worse with EVERY election, and I'm so very fed up! Most Democrats here could pass as DINOS, IMO!

5. Another reason Karen should go besides losing all the election over and over, don't forget
Thurman still on Cardenas payroll
Karen Thurman, expected to easily win re-election as chairwoman of the Florida Democratic Party on Saturday, has reconfigured her strange-bedfellows partnership with Miami lawyer/lobbyist Al Cardenas.

Cardenas, the former chairman of the Republican Party of Florida, was paying Thurman $3,500 a month to help his law firm lobby the Democratic-controlled Congress on behalf of MIami-Dade County. But Thurman said today that she and one of the firm's partners, Eric Gould, formed their own lobbying firm. Cardenas still has the Miami-Dade contract, Thurman said, but now he subcontracts with Thurman Gould LLC. Gould is a Democrat who worked for Thurman when she served in Congress.

Party bylaws do not prevent Thurman from seeking income outside her $100,000 annual salary.

NOTE:
She did not win "reelection". As her first term in 04, they once again chased away her opponent. She was again, reappointed! We called for her to resign before, and Nelson calls the poo-bahs, to vote for her to remain. This is sick. She is paid 100K to work for dems, and she demoralized so many in this way.

6. I just received this on the topic, to a state bommittee woman...
Susan, I have read your message. Excuse me but some of what I have to say as well as HOW I say it you may find a bit coarse. However, I find the character and effort of the FDP et al more so.

I have been involved in Democratic politics for the better part of the past decade and have watched the pathetic effort that is invariably standard for the Democratic Party. As you say, the answer is to go to MORE training sessions! establish coalition groups and "scout" for future candidates. Well it seems that here in Florida the BEST Democratic candidate is ALWAYS... an EX REPUBLICAN. TRUE TO FORM THE Democrats in Pasco attempted to recruit Nancy Argenziano to replace Jim Piccillo this election cycle after the primary. This fiasco went as far as Joe Biden's office and DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen offering Piccillo a job in return for his EXIT from the race. Now I have little in common w/ Piccillo, but what I do have in common is the fact that the Democratic Party has fought me EVERY step of the way. Any candidate who is NOT a go along/get along/get in line/do as you are told/play the game type will be hassled to the Nth degree.

I have worked to EXPOSE the unethical behavior of Democratic Party leaders such as Karen Thurman (W/ whom I am certain you are intimately acquainted). YOU and your ilk throughout the Democratic Party are the people that need to RESIGN and GET The HELL outa the way! People DIE because of the NON opposition "opposition party" in this state. Karen, Alison Morano, yourself and a slew of old bags like yourself who will continue to keep the same old "we just need to learn more and follow our leaders and work harder nonsense" as an excuse are the REAL REASON WHY Democrats are DEAD in Florida. Notwithstanding the corrupt klowns/mouthpieces like Debbie Wasserman Schultz who was also part of the Pull the Plug on Picillo crew in addition to ENDORSING Ginny Brown-Waite the Republican incumbent in my race to unseat her in 2006. See the Scoop link below! I've seen enough!

The FDP is NOW a state regional party existing EXCLUSIVELY in SOUTH Florida. I have known this for years as I have watched the nitwits who have ZERO fight in them, ZERO character, look unsuccessful and ARE unsuccessful... have NO strategy and do NOT want ANYONE who is capable of designing a WINNING strategy anywhere near the levers of the Democratic Party. Now I will digress in stating that this email/communication to which I am replying... Is it not the very same letter that you sent out previously following election 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006??? Oh and despite losing just about EVERYTHING in 2008 other than a couple of congressional seats filled by right wing Dems of questionable character... w/ the exception of the self financed Alan Grayson and of course Obama... pardon me... and WHAT has he done except EXPAND the war, given us CORPORATE Health Care, left in place the Patriot Act and Military Commissions and is now going to CAPITULATE on retaining the Bush Tax Cuts for the Uber wealthy until the Repubs take over completely , then expand the cuts further for the wealthy and..... Make them PERMANENT! WOW Whata plan! That's national but this is Florida.

Please RESIGN as the horse is, as they say... out of the barn for you and your peers and in particular Karen Thurman appointed by RIGHT WING Senator Bill the Shill Nelson. The loss of the Governor's mansion was fully engineered by the Republicans in charge of the FDP including many committee men and women like yourself who believe that losing really IS WINNING! If you want to see what real Democratic Policy looks like go to my website! This is TOO serious now to have self serving individuals who are both incompetent and in many cases corrupt running any political party that is supposed to represent a large cohort of people. Ain't nuth'n gonna "blow over" this time! This IS the time to "CLEAN HOUSE!" As Chuck Todd NBC Political Director says in the video, "FDP Worst State Party in the Nation, BAR NONE!" Video attached! Read below..... For the Formal Request For Karen Thurman's Resignation. John Russell
