Question for Wilmington natives
I was in Wilmington about 10 or 12 years ago. I ate at an old fashioned crab shack/restaurant. It was sort of up on a hill in a somewhat seedy part of town. We were told that it was one of the oldest crab places in town. Is it still there and what was the name of it?

1. Lestardo's Crab House
I think you may be looking for Lestardo's which was originally
on Lincoln Street, around 4th. Now on Prangs Lane, New Castle,
about 8 miles away. (302) 328 5070. I don't know for certain
that it's the same people.

2. I'm stuck on "seedy"...

That's such a relative term. The entire county has gotten seedy in one way or another.

There was a "CRAB SHACK" on South Market that became something else, but that was long before 10 or 12 years ago.

Is the Boon Docks (or that other place off of Route 9) open this time of year?

3. Born and raised here - I believe you might mean DiNardo's
Now one of those "things that aren't there any more" places.

DiNardo's Restaurant
405 North Lincoln St.
Wilmington

Although there's one in nearby Philly now - don't know if it's the same owner or not.

4. How about that place near Smyrna?
On a trip back to Del a few years ago stopped at a place near Smryna. Was planning on some clams and blue crab. They had muskrat, nutria and some other "small game" in the butcher case. My boys just couldn't believe that any place would sell this meat. I frankly had never seen it sold before either. Don't know if its still there, kinda of a large building on the river side of the road. Paul.
