I wonder if this means they're taking CSPAN off of basic cable now?

Newark’s cable access channel will begin broadcasting Monday, the city announced today.

The Newark TV channel will run continuously on Comcast Channel 22, and will include municipal news and information, parks and recreation highlights, service reminders, employment opportunities, weather, traffic, emergency messages and public service announcements.

The channel was developed in partnership with Comcast Cable, which provides the channel free of charge to Newark as part of its franchise agreement with the city.

The city also is working with the TelVue Corporation’s TVTN Network to provide the latest multimedia technology for its information displays. Newark is the first Delaware affiliate to launch a TVTN-partnered site.

For information, contact the City Manager’s Office at 302-366-7020.

Amongst our list of channel changes to occur on August 1st, this does not show as one of them.
