1. I grew up in Wilmington.
Or, to be more exact, the suburbs north of Wilmington. Brandywine High School class of 1989.

Got my start in politics on Charlie Oberly's 1994 US Senate campaign, and working as a gofer for then-Governor Tom Carper.

Now I live in DC. I rarely get back to Wilmington, because my parents don't live there anymore.

2. I was at the hotel the nite Charlie Oberly lost
I helped also with Charlie Butler's campaign. That was heart breaking. We all went to Freel's bar and got plastered. Apparently, I was sitting on a bar stool next Tom Capano half the nite.

3. Ah, Charlie Butler.
I helped out a little on his campaign that year. I was dating a woman who worked for him. In fact, I think she was his campaign's only employee.

What ever happened to that guy? Is he still in politics?

if you remember she was in law enforcement. I think I know the women you are talking about and if it's her, she's worked her way up.

on edit.... you know Charlie's brother, Dan owns a couple of really fantastic restaurants here - Toscana and Deep Blue.

5. Never been to Deep Blue.
But I did go to Toscana way back when. In fact, I think I was there for a Charlie Butler campaign event.

I suspect we are talking about the same woman. No surprise if she's worked her way up. She was a very enthusiastic and hard-working Dem.
