3. I did watch it but have been busy since then to respond
I also watched the Repub debate the day before.

Overall, any of our Dem candidates on paper could defeat the Repubs. The Repubs are all aging white males and show it. But Tom Foley has lots of $$$ and his TV ads helped him go up in the polls, but in the debate, he was weak. Unfortunately, most low info voters don't watch the debates.

Ned Lamont was about 5-10 minutes late. Tsk Tsk, but he wasn't as late to this debate as Malloy was to my DTC's candidate forum. Malloy was 40-45 minutes late to my DTC's forum. Ned did turn this faux pas into an argument for transportation improvement.

I thought Ned did very well. I also liked Jarjura and Figueroa. Don't know much about them other than what I saw in this debate. I thought Malloy looked a bit stiff. I've seen him at my DTC event and at others and he's a bit looser than what I saw on the NBC debate. Although, I thought Malloy answered the death penalty question very well. His answer plays to a Democratic audience but it wouldn't to an Independent one that leans right on security and left on social issues. None of the Democrats actually framed the death penalty debate the correct way to play to Independent voters.

I thought Ned Lamont scored on the "Paid Sick Days" and made up from his previous faux pas on this issue a few weeks ago. He was the only Democrat who pointed out that this issue is being worked on at the national level and he supports a national paid sick day requirement because if CT passes a paid sick day bill and other states don't, then businesses won't come into or will leave CT and that will add to our budget woes.

Mary Glassman was ok, but other than her being the only woman in the group, she didn't really stand out for me. I thought both Jarjura and Figueroa had a good sense of humor.
