Lieberman article in Manchester Journal Inquirer
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 09:34 AM by Skinner
BTW Call Lieberman's office and tell his people how you can not accept the use of the nuclear option in the senate. He "doesn't have an opinion" on it yet... How that can be while he calls himself a Democrat is beyond me... The article spends most of its length describing the qualities that make Lieberman no different than Shays or Simmons... So I took the best part for ya below. =)

Votes the vote, does he talk the talk?

It may be Lieberman's early and continued support for the invasion of Iraq, however, that has drawn the most wrath from Connecticut Democrats, including some party leaders.

The lead Democratic co-sponsor of the Gulf War resolution in 1991, Lieberman joined Republican John McCain in 1998 to introduce the Iraq Liberation Act, which made the "liberation" of that country U.S. policy. He later became the lead sponsor of a 2002 resolution authorizing Bush to use force, if necessary, to disarm Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

In an extraordinary encounter last week with members of the Democratic State Central Committee, the senator was forced to defend his hawkish record by Myrna Watanabe, Harwinton's town chairwoman.

2. How in the world does Lieberman have a 70% approval rating
in "liberal" New England? Oh, I forgot. Connecticut is the state where the Bush political dynasty started. :(

(BTW, no dispersions cast on Connecticut in general. I'm a grad of the UConn Peace Studies program, myself. :hi: )

That sounds awesome. I just left UCONN last year myself =). Is that a new program? Or maybe not a Pols program?

I graduated about 4 years ago. It's not listed in the catalog, and the guy who runs it has got to be 70 by now, so I don't know how much longer it will be around. :(

7. Yeah, that "Peace " thing is more of a philosophy than a discipline, huh?
Reality based education-- Peace is on of many approaches available to us, not the only one.

How neocon.

... the insurance industry, the military helicopter industry, and the nuclear submarine industry.

That's Hartford et al, Sikorski, and Electric Boat.

He brings home the bacon for Connecticut.

9. Ummm guess an additional sentence was a huge deal.
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 02:35 PM by ProgressiveConn
Next time I'll just delete the spaces in between sentences. I don't know anyone who considers a single sentence a paragraph...
