3. No problem. I lived in Vegas for a year. It sucked big-time!
I'd much rather be in Connecticut, crotch-deep in snow.

4. We're gonna get hit again too!
Long Island has really been hit hard this winter, all the storms came up the coast! I'm pretty tired of it already! Counting down the days till spring!

6. I grew up on LI and live in
upstate NY (Oswego). We get 180+ inches of snow annually....alot of "lake effect" storms. 25 miles from here where my wife works had 10+ inches of snow last night and today...it's all in perspective....I remember the "mild" winters on LI growing up....and wish for them here.

8. I know- It's not Buffalo or Winnipeg
But we've had 40 inches of snow for three years in a row- first time since they've kept records that that's happened. Plus the repeated storms are beating the shit out of the beaches- lots of erosion- not good!

12. I went to school at RIT for a year...
I understand where you are coming from. Rochester gets blitzed pretty bad by snow every year. I think they get more than Buffalo, if I recall, because they have 2 lakes to effect them. And, Rochester is also windier than the Windy City of Chicago... needless to say, walking across campus most of the school year from the dorms on one side to class on the other was not a fun experience.

So, after spending a decade in Rochester one year, I don't mind the snow here in CT so much.... but, this year, it's just wearing me down.

11. The ice storm in (I think) '72 was the worst
I think our home was out of power for like a week. We stayed at my grandparent's home because they had a fireplace.
