What do you think of when you see this plate?

The site says it's commemorating Columbine, but I always thought it seemed more pro-life (duh, but I mean in the anti-choice way), or possibly anti-war? I dunno.

1. I used to think the pro-lifers hijacked it
But I've seen them on a lot of cars with Darwin fish on them too, so they're probably not all pro-lifers.

3. If it's meant to commemorate Columbine and
the anti-choice people have hijacked the plate, then I would order the plate and display a "Keep abortion legal" bumper sticker along with it. If I lived in Colorado that is what I would do, anyhow.

4. I'd love to see a "Respect Choice" plate
Even a "Respect Freedom" would be good, and likely to be a hit around here.

6. I think that it is a little different if you're from CO...
I was thinking about that plate a lot lately, and it seems like it could be totally "pro-life." But after Columbine, I think that was its intended purpose. Seems like it was hijacked by some fundies, but it will always mean Columbine to me.

10. Ehh... I don't know.
I know one of the victims who is now paralized, and he is working hard for stem cell research with the Christopher Reeve foundation. So maybe some good will come out of that tragedy...

7. I Almost Got Run Over One Night....
...in the 7-11 parking lot in Pueblo by a Mercury Cougar with those plates on it. Once it parked, I wakled over and said "I see you only care about fetuses - you don't give a damn about life once people are born."

The young woman driving the car started it up and drove away without saying a word.....

8. I assumed it was an anti-abortion statement
until I saw this post. If it's supposed to commemorate Columbine, why doesn't it say "Respect Others" or "Hug Your Kid" or something? The columbine is, after all, the state flower, so I don't immediately associate it with the high school. I think some pro-lifers found a way to get their $.02 in.

11. That's right...
I didn't connect the state flower with the license plate. I just assumed the columbine = CHS.

12. Columbine high-school in theory
It was to commemorate Columbine in theory, but it is backed by the anti-abortion movement in practice.
