RTD Riders Increase As Gas Prices Rise
DENVER -- With the increase in gas prices all over the country, more and more people are turning to public transportation as an alternative to filling up their car tanks with gas.

The national average is now $3.01 a gallon for regular unleaded. Denver is slightly lower at about $2.94 a gallons, up 18 cents in the last month.

Gas prices continue to fluctuate across the metro area. At one Denver Conoco, it is $3.09 for regular unleaded. Just a few blocks west, unleaded is $2.91 a gallon

I rode the bus today for the first time in months and I was shocked at how full the buses and lightrail were.

1. I just bought a scooter.
I plan on using it to ride to work a few times a week. Sadly, I have to drive people around during the day occasionally. Not sure they'd take to the back of a scooter.

5. Jealous of your scooter, Donco!
My favorite uncle just bought one as well.
I ride my trashed old mountain bike or walk around Denver; when I have to go to NW Arvada for work twice a week, I drive, but I hate it. Wish I could find a bus route.

It's nice not to have to deal with traffic and you really get used to it after a while.
Everybody should try it at least once. The websites below will show you what bus(es) you woul dneed to take.

4. Boulderite
So I can walk or take the Hop. However I'm moving back into my condo so I had to borrow my mom's minivan, cost me $55 dollars to fill it up.

They can't expand light rail and Fastrax soon enough. Even for the control freaks that have to drive at least it will take other cars off the road.

I live in Pueblo and I have a job in Colorado Springs which makes it really tough conserving gas and hard on the wallet. I walk wherever I dont have to drive though.
