Saw a bit of irony on my way to the polls.
Driving to my poll I saw emergency vehicles at a house. As I drove past a large guy was getting helped to a strechter with first responders helping him to a gurnney. On his front lawn a large "Vote no on C" sign sat. It would have only been perfect if they couldn't respond because of budget cuts.
Not sure if I could have kept my mouth shut helping him.

1. Wow, that's kinda strange...
I'm so relieved it passed!

I don't think I saw any homes with "No on C" signs, just businesses.

2. I barely saw any no on C signs in the Springs.
The only place where I saw a whole bunch of them (residentially speaking) was the Broadmoor area. Other than that I saw Pro-C signs everywhere. Of course El Paso County still voted against it, but it was still nice to see some folks not beholden to greed.

3. There is a really big "Vote No It's Your Dough" sign out on highway 24.
It looked homemade, but it was quite large. There are a lot of anti government types out that way. They like to pretend they are being "self sufficient", surviving in the wilderness all on their own. :eyes:

4. Oh, Hwy. 24 is the savage frontier, allright!
My friend and I were driving up there one day, and he told me that Teller county had turned down funds to expand the highway to "preserve the rural character of the road." We both gave each other our best :wtf: look.

5. Ugh. There's one on Federal, too, by 84th.

It's in Federal Heights on private land. I hate that saying "Vote NO It's Your Dough", it reminds me of "Whoop Their Ass, Take Their Gas". Keee-rist!

Anyway, C passed, so the joke's on him or her (sign maker)

6. Out here on the Western Slope we had a bond issue
a few years back, basically to buy an ambulance for our county that would run reliably. :eyes:

The joke among EMS staff was "Sure, you can vote against it. We'll just put this big red "X" on yer door, though...!" :D
