Coors history regarding civil rights - touches on Nazi issues
An article from BAMN an affirmative action site. Web page last updated April 2004. Looks like some more to delve into the history of Coors ties to Heritage Foundation which may have some links to Nazi supporters. This may be a touchy subject. I plan on doing more research msyelf but figured to post it.

There are nine References at the end of this article.

http://www.bamn.com/boycott-coors/index.asp

"When Joseph Coors established the Heritage Foundation in 1974, he chose Roger Pearson, an outspoken anti-Semite and pro-Nazi, as co- editor of the Heritage Foundation publication "Policy Review." Pearson is the author of a racist book called "Race and Civilization," which uses pseudoscience to falsely assert the biological inferiority of black people. Pearson has also edited or co-edited several racist and neo-Nazi magazines, as well as written and organized for the far right-wing Northern League in northern Italy.

Paul Weyrich, far right wing strategist and Heritage Foundation co-founder, has many ties to Nazi collaborators and neo-fascist organizations. In the 1970s, Weyrich and Joseph Coors made appointments and set up political contacts on Capitol Hill for Franz Joseph Strauss, then the Bavarian head of state, who helped émigré Nazi collaborators. The Free Congress Foundation, co-founded by Joseph Coors and Weyrich, became active in eastern European politics after the Cold War. Figuring prominently in this effort was Weyrich's right-hand man, Laszlo Pasztor, a former leader of the pro-Nazi Arrow Cross organization in Hungary, which had collaborated with Hitler's Reich. After serving two years in prison for his Arrow Cross activities, Pasztor found his way to the United States, where he was instrumental in establishing the ethnic-outreach arm of the Republican National Committee.

Coors money helped sponsor the landmark public education setback, the Cleveland vouchers case. In June 2002 the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the use of public funds ("school vouchers") to pay for private schools, including religious schools. This effort to weaken public education has been led by the Institute for Justice and annually funded by Coors profits."

1. Colorado Has 170,000 More Registered GOP Voters vs Dems
and unfortunately GOP voters don't give a rats ass about anything but winning. Family history don't mean shit.

I'm very worried that this billionaire brew boy will be the next GOP senator from my state.

In Tuesday's election - 30,000 more GOP'ers voted vs dems.

2. Family history is Peter Coors' present
As I've been gleaning from articles on the web.

We know about the Primary numbers. Lots of folks don't bother with primaries, sadly. I'm simply looking for accurate talking points to energize folks I know here in Colorado and then posting them here as well.

I don't agree with your tone or worry that Coors is going to win. Please hang your wet blanket on the line to dry out. I prefer to stay optimistic and positive - if you don't mind!

4. Colorado Also Has A Large Bloc Of Independents
Many times they vote with the Republicans, but they can be swayed to our side by the truth.

6. Yeah, They Weren't Swayed in 2002
Allard vs Strickland - Polls say Salazar will win now - but expect Bush out here every month to campaign for Billionaire Brew Boy. I watched in my neighborhood at a high traffic intersection dems working hard to put up signs for Strickland - next day they'd be gone. Again and again -

GOP plays dirty in CO. It's all the implants that have infiltrated my state (i'm a native)

My hope is people will get off their ass in Nov and vote straight democratic seeing the urgency at hand if the GOP continues to hold the majority. - I hope young kids worried about college and a draft will vote.

Colorado has unfortunately gone from pink to red due to so many republicans moving here and eating up the suburbs. Yick even in Boulder - it's 50/50 now. Mega bucks in Boulder now - I hardly recognized it last time I was there - Noodles & Co, Starbucks, Souper/Salad, all the batch of new corporate eateries have taken over.

3. Salazar
is a proven vote getter, even in Republican years. He should have a very good chance of winning this seat.

7. That's Why I Voted For Him
I thought Mike Miles was good, but he didn't come across as the vote-getter that Salazar is.

5. Thanks for the Info
I just e-mailed it to Joseph Michelli, who hosts a talk show on KVOR in Colorado Springs (740 AM) and is a vocal supporter of Pete Coors. Maybe this will cause him to reconsider that support...
