Progressive Caucus Meeting at 5 P.M. Fri at Convention

The Progressive caucus will have it's opening meeting at 5 P.M. This was put together by Dotty LeMieux (formerly the California Political Director of the Kucinich campaign), the Hull-Richters (the family that got the California Democratic Party to call for a voter-verifiable paper trail) and a number of other indivudals. PDA is backing the causus and is expected to have a big presence there. The caucus is incorrectly listed as the "Progressive Issues Coalition" on the schedule. It's purpose includes universal health care, abolition of the death penalty, fair trade and most of the other progressive issues. The members plan to work to get through progressive legislation and elect progressive candidates.

Also, the resolutions committee will be hearing resolutions calling for an end to the occupation of Iraq. PDA wants to pack the committee room when the resolution is heard. The resolutions committee meeting's at 4:30.
