Barbara Boxer endorses Phil Angelides

I am worried about the direction our state is headed. The common values you and I share are under attack from the right.

But there is one man who can help put California back on track: Phil Angelides.

We need your help to spread the message!

Click here to invite 10 of your friends and family to join with you in standing up for California's future. (http://ga4.org/campaign/endorse_boxeremail/)

I have known Phil Angelides for years and respect him as a man of ideas, fairness and compassion. That is why I think he would make a great Governor for California.

In 1991, Phil became the chair of the California Democratic Party. The situation for Democrats in California looked bleak. Republicans had won the last three presidential elections in California and the last six gubernatorial elections.

Phil worked tirelessly in leading the effort to register one million new Democratic voters, open 50 local offices statewide and turn out 50,000 volunteers. You know what? It paid off! On election night 1992 we all celebrated as California elected two new women senators - Sen. Feinstein and me - and President Bill Clinton!

Phil stood with me when the chips were down; when people said I'd never make it; he was there to see me through to victory! I'll never forget it.

California needs Phil Angelides in the Governor's office.

And in order for him to get there, we need you to spread the word to your friends and family. Click here to send a message to 10 of your friends and family and invite them to join you in standing up for California's future.

Best regards,

Sen. Barbara Boxer

3. Why?
Running a celebrity would send the message to voters that celebrities make good politicians, and that even Democrats believe that.

It would have been like saying in 1984 that Demcorats need to find a good former actor to run for president. How would that have explained to voters what was wrong with Ron Reagan? It probably would have just made people think, "well, if I'm just picking between former actors, why change horses?"

9. Not boring. I heard him speak last week. Wow-he was
very dynamic and totally excited the crowd. Said all the right things about standing up to Republicans and standing up for core Democratic values.

I'd have no hesitation against putting this guy up against "Ahnold" anyday!

4. I heard him on Randi's show today (with Sam Seder) and I liked

what I heard. This guy isn't going to step gingerly around the corrupt things AhNo has done, the lies he has told, and general sleaziness of the dumkopf. In fact, he outlined only a fraction of them and it was really mind-blowing. Get RID of AhNo-- we must!! Angelides is straightforward and no-nonsense-- a true progressive-- and I agreed with everything he said.

Go Phil!!!!

5. He gave a great (but short) speech at the DNC in August. He was fired up..
...and he was very smart. He had exactly the frame that I think could beat Arnold.

If that's still in place, we're doomed.

7. We should trust Boxer
She went out on a limb for us and is now fighting for what we believe in. Do you think she would choose someone who didn't believe like her??

8. Too bad Barbara can't clone herself.
I know we need her in the Senate, but she would make a good Governor or even President of the US, too. I wish she would run. I know Arnold wouldn't stand a chance against her.

Just got my email from Barbara. I checked out his site. Have you guys watched any of the videos of him on there? He looks really solid, good, strong, and assertive. I'm excited. I think it's possible for him to beat arnold.
