Anyone else watching the L.A.'s mayor's race.
Hahn is way on top. Villaraigosa is in third. Last time Villaraigosa moved up during the first election. Arnold's endorsed Hertzberg, the current second place.

1. Good. As I was expecting ,Villaraigosa has moved up to a tie for 2nd.
It looks now like it will be a repeat of four years ago. The thing Hahn has working against him is that the African-American community was strongly behind him and now they are mad about his replacment of Parks and that helps Villaraigosa.

3. African Americans were behind Hahn out of loyalty to his father.
Guess they've seen that Hahn and his father were two very different people.

6. They were behind Hahn because of the consent agreement.
I think he blew his career when he didn't back Parks and instead backed the current police chief. Crime may be down but police beatings are up (guess that's not part of the statistics). Personally, I would have appointed Johnny Cochran as police chief.

2. I hope we don't end up with Hahn and Hertzberger run off
Hertzbergers got more personality, but not by much. And it's pretty easy to have more personality than Hahn. But I still haven't figured out what he stands for.

Personally, I'd love to see the run off be between Villarigosa and Hertzberger. One way or another, Hahn has to go.

5. Hahn has a battle on his hands.
If he makes it to the runoff (and it looks like it now), I can't see any of the other candidates endorsing him.

Tony will pick up a HUGE block of Parks' voters.

9. Hertzberg will endorse Tony as well.
They've seem to mend fences during the campaign.

Riordan will endorse him as well. He did in '01.
