How is everyone in California holding up in this hot weather?
Edited on Wed Apr-28-04 09:39 AM by Kadie
It is suppose to stay hot for the next week or so. We have been in the 90's here. I wonder if this is any indication of what the Summer is going to be like?

Thought it was lounge, not state.

These new forums screw me up.

3. Manhattan Beach
I get coastal cloud cover in the mornings & a seabreeze in the afternoon. So it's like 72F year round.

In January, I went out into the backyard, picked some lemons, and made my own organic lemonade. I mentioned this using AIM to a friend in Boston, and his next message was, "I HATE YOU!"

I am soooooooooooooo bad.

Muwhahahaha!

6. nice
When I was out running errands yesterday, my car thermometer said it was 95 outside just before 1 o'clock. Today will be a little cooler, but it is suppose to be back up in the 90's by the end of the week.

4. Finally fixed the flat on my Harley
and rode in this morning. 6:AM Sacramento temps are heaven. For the ride home I'll stay cool taking Garden Highway along the river. And I'm sure wifey will have the A/C on when I get home.

7. We are south of Sacramento
a bit. The mornings are nice, it is the late afternoon that does me in. Have a real nice ride home.

8. Can you imagine weather like this through August.
A little warm weather is nice, I just hope we get a little more spring like weather before summer really sets in.

9. nope
it's a fluke of weather...

We still have May and June to get through, and for the most part, it's been my experience out here for 13 years that "June Gloom" arrives in the middle of May and continues for the most part throughout the month of June before moving on. IT's really cool and overcast and the sun, if it can burn through the marine layer, comes out after 3pm.

SoCal is the only place where you can't put your summer clothes or your winter clothes away because the weather fluctuates.

11. June Gloom rolled into Ventura County today...
Thick marine layer, which at 11:50 am still isn't even close to burning off. AT least 15 degrees cooler than yesterday.

13. We moved here 2 years ago, after 11 years in Omaha,
living in Altadena. The climate from March - October here is so much better than Omaha! It gets cool at night! You don't have to run your AC 24 hours a day for weeks on end. You don't even really need a whole house AC, least not where we live. On the other hand, we do miss snow, and real cold. It's strange that snow doesn't come to you here; you go to the snow.

14. I'm gonna hate to see my Edison bill.
We can't leave the slider open because the cats will rip the screen and get. So we have to leave the A/C on.

It's one hot mutha!

All I've managed to do for the last few days is plant a few vegetables and install more drippers and micro-sprinklers on my drip irrigation system. I really like the little 10 GPH sprinklers.

I figure it will cool off when the June Gloom sets in. At least until the monsoon season starts.
