California: May it rest in peace.
Bush is fulfilling his promise to make California a radioactive wasteland and even Reid failed to filibuster (making him a party to this funding). Perhaps it's time for the citizens of CA fo rise up and demand that Reid resign over not filibustering this one.

WASHINGTON -- Lawmakers agreed Friday to provide enough money to keep alive plans for a nuclear waste dump in Nevada, but they put off trying to resolve a dispute over radiation protection that could doom the project if not resolved.

The compromise limits funding for the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste program to $577 million this fiscal year, the same as last year but about two-thirds of the $880 million the Energy Department had said it needed to keep the program on track.

2. You can't filibuster Omnibus spending bills. And Reid isn't a CA senator.
Was this in the omnibus spending bill? It was, wasn't it?

3. Learn your parilimentary procedure

If Reid could've filibustered the Yucca Mtn. bill, he would've done it in a heartbeat. The bill required a simple majority, and other senators, even the more liberal ones, voted for it becuase they wanted the nuclear waste out of their states.

In addition, Yucca Mtn. is in NEVADA, not CALIFORNIA.

God, this Reid demonization has gone too far. I know you don't like him, but it's pointless to blame him for things that are out of his hands.
