11 Arrested - 7 Of Them While Leaving/Legal Observing; Occupy Fresno 6th night of arrests

These eleven occupiers were kidnapped at approximately 1:30 a.m. at courthouse park: Summer Vue, Kayla, Sy, Razor, Joseph, Michael D., Michael B., Malachi, Jim Compton Schmidt, Moises, and one new person currently known as the "fifth Michael." In this arrest, several were trying to disperse and were forced back onto the park grounds to be arrested.

Please come out to g.a. this evening to learn more about the ongoing coercive suppression of our first amendment freedoms and about upcoming Occupy Fresno! actions. Also, please consider either standing up for our rights despite the threat of arrest or serving as a legal observer.

1. So I responded to the Fresno mayor's message to honor vets

by saying it's too bad they don't honor them the rest of the year when they roust homeless people.

Her office said that they work closely with the VA and that there is still room to house more homeless vets. Which I take to be CYA bs. And to which I replied that rousting the homeless impedes outreach. What a douche.

they have to know the whole world is watching. The continue to say things are being done but it is so small.

Hopefully someone who knows how to use the CA Freedom if Info Act will get the facts on what the city has or hasn't done. It is hard to to get the wording right to get the info you need.

3. Well, they implied that they were working with the VA when they roust homeless people

and you & I know that is bullshit.

They invoked the VA only to give themselves cover and did it so quickly, you know they had it ready to play like a card.

I think every contact counts, too. These people need to know their short term bs solutions, like rousting helpless people and like remembering vets one day a year, are not acceptable and they need to be called on them.
