Redding residents protest in support of Occupy Wall Street movement

Some 75 people gathered in front of two downtown Redding banks Tuesday to say they've had enough of corporations controlling the country.

"The banks got bailed out, 99 percent of us got sold out," said Marisa Hewitt, one of the organizers of the event. "We're losing our social safety net."

The Redding Occupy Wall Street demonstration, organized by the local American Dream Council and Shasta County Citizens for Democracy, was inspired by a national movement called Occupy Wall Street that recently gathered in New York ...
