Finally I got to be in a grocery store during an earthquake.
They say it was a 4.1 @ 4:10 but it felt a little bigger than that. Maybe it was those loaded aisles waving back and forth a couple of times. :)

Earthquake shakes San Jose Friday

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck south San Jose at 4:10 p.m. today (Jan. 7), the U.S. Geological Survey has reported.

It was at a depth of 4.4 miles and was felt in Palo Alto.

The temblor was located west of U.S. Highway 101, near San Felipe Road.

It appeared to be in the Calaveras fault zone. Click here for map for faultlines.

7. Thanks. The epicenter was just a few miles away from here
at the base of Mt. Hamilton or so. That's why it felt a little stronger than 4.1, I guess. :)

8. And AGAIN I was out of town
that would have been just about the time I was boarding BART at the Civic Center on my way back from a budget action.

Last time I was at a meeting in Sac. I was at Mom's in NYC when Hawai'i had its '06 quake. My next trip is to San Diego the 24th-27th of this month. Be afraid... :scared:
