I'd like to be happy but he's a Blue Dog.

1. I was pretty stunned by some of the signs along the 5 attacking him
I know he's a blue dog, but getting any democrat elected there is admirable.

3. Keep in mind that people own large chunks of land
on the I-5 and 99 corridors which gives the illusion of plurality. The farmers are pissed that the water THAT WE PAID FOR was denied us. Ironically, Costa voted AGAINST the bill but, alas, ignorant fuckwads in Dinuba aren't any smarter than the ignorant fuckwads in Los Angeles.

Getting a Democrat elected from here would be even more admirable if the Democrats decided to run anything but a sacrifice candidate, IF they put up a candidate at all (they often don't). That leaves the progressives in the Valley the choice of voting for the Republican or voting for sacrifice candidate/no Democratic candidate/Blue Dog candidate or voting Third Party.

4. I hear ya there
And of course when they do run a candidate here there's NO funding.

The dude 2 years ago spent $50,000 out of pocket to run, and got NO help from outside. :(

2. McNerney, too.
Jerry McNerney (Dem) 110,548 47.9%
David Harmer (Rep) 108,858 47.0%
David Christensen (AI) 11,823 5.1%

Note that the American Independent (far right) candidate served as the spoiler.
