I'm conflicted about prop 14
Part of me thinks it's a good idea. But then, I supposedly live in a blue district so I could easily imagine two dems getting the top spots.

What am I missing?

1. Totally shuts out General Election ballot to just 2 top vote getters in Primary.
Instead of one Primary winner from all parties with sufficient # of votes to qualify on the General ballot.

2. I know; and since I'm a nonaffiliated voter
during primaries I get to choose which ballot I want, and most times, I want a mixture, which is why this appeals to me.

But given how money influences elections, the likely outcome would be the two richest candidates would win

Still, I'm conflicted.

3. Democrats should choose their own candidate, so should repubs
after that, then you vote your choice. Open primary could have two people of the same party running against each other. It also makes it easier for dirty tricks, when opposing party votes for the candidate they most want to run against.

For example, if democrats have two candidates on the ballot and one is strong and one is weak guess who the repubs will vote for in droves...

Thom Hartman did a good piece about open primary's and why they're so bad just two days ago.
