67th Assembly District, Orange County
Last night at went to the 67th AD monthly meeting. As the OCDP Vice Chair for West OC, I had 'Welcome OC Democrats' packets to disperse. (All newly registered democrats in Orange County get a personal welcome to the party packet from another democrat.) At the meeting, the gentleman we all knw was going to run for the 67th AD seat announced he had withdrawn from the race to run for a school board position instead. With the nomination papers signatures due date looming, this is not timely news. A small group formed after the meeting discussing who they might get to run. Suddenly all faces turned outward and one voice said 'Roz, you should run'. I laughed out loud, finished gathering up my stuff and left for home. I gave it no further thought -my carpool friend & I didn't even discuss it.

As soon as I walked in the front door though, it hit me - what the hell - go ahead do it.

I called the search group leader and told him I would do it.

I am going to be the Orange County Democratic Party candidate for the California 67th Assembly District!

3. I hope you will be able to speak out about the nontransparent voting system they
have in the OC - Hart-Intercivic

No election results can be proven to be accurate with this completely nontransparent, easily hackable system.

Ugh. Good luck!

Orange County has almost 520,000 registered Democrats. The rethug incumbent is running for his last term. So 2012 would be the ideal run since there will be no incumbent hill to overcome. But I pulled my nominating papers yesterday and got my first signature last night. Only 39 more to go for the nominstion. Actually I need many as I can get because the more I get the lower my filing fee will be.
