I'm already hearing commercials on the radio for the GOP candidate for governor
that CEO woman.

She repeats three things she's going to do:

1. merit pay for teachers

2. cut spending

3. I forget the third

The Democratic Party needs to get off their dead ass and put out their talking points on what they are going to do for the state, and, at least as important, accurately place the blame for the decline of the state on hare-brained GOP ideas like giving the extreme minority veto power over the budget, improving education by beating up teachers who already have a foot out the door, and not taxing the rich and corporations but only liking taxes that disproportionately hit the poor and middle class.

Is it Cara Sneed who ran Lucent and HP off a cliff or Meg Whitman who ran eBay off a cliff.

I can't wait to hear Cara Sneed's campaign slogan "Californians have no right to jobs! Fuck You Vote For Me!"

the greatest thing about satellite radio is no political ads!

2. Meg Whitman, I think...but if they buy the all the air time and get the likely positive
coverage in the press that glosses over their glaring failures (in policy proposals as well as resumes) we could end up with another Arnold unless the Democrats do SOMETHING to define their opponents and the GOP in general.

3. Whitman is an idiot, and I don't just say that out of political bias.
She's running her campaign horribly, and her whole campaign is assuming the air of a bored rich person who is looking for a new game to play. The fact that she hasn't even bothered to vote for the last decade, and then blamed her lack of voting on "spending time with her family" (as if Californians can't spend time with their families and vote at the same time) really hurt her chances. I live in a freeperish part of California, and I can tell you that support for her has really whithered. Common Republicans are increasingly seeing her as insincere and inexperienced.
