Ventura Co.-37th District-Ferial Masry vs neocon drone Stickland
Making great strides! Endorsements from both the "Ventura County Star" and the "Fillmore Herald". The Fillmore paper has not endorsed a Democrat for any race for {b]over 40 years. Virtually every person she meets has come away impressed and interested in learning more about Ferial and how she plans to end polarizing politics in California.

"People in this district are tired of feeling left out, tired of being represented by a small group of extreme right-wing activists. I will serve as the voice of independents, Democrats, moderate Republicans, Green Party supporters, parents, small business owners, educators, union workers, farmers and others who feel disenfranchised. My experience with people from all backgrounds and my maturity are sorely needed to help heal the sort of polarization we are seeing in so many of our communities and in our state. "

Her opponent is the wife of termed out neocon Tony Strickland. Help with a few bucks if you can. One less Venti Latte for the cause?

3. Ventura County is a changin' my friend
demographics; lots of the new residents are from the demographic that makes them lean Dem. Ventura the city is rediscovering its working man roots, but is benefitting from the shift away from aged retirement age republican dominance to a younger set.

2. Small point, but Stricklands/McClintock aren't neo-conservatives.
They are, if anything, paleo-conservative, or, more aptly, neo-fascist. I think it's great that this Democrat is running a good campaign. Of course, she will not win this seat. She could have won the old seat, but with the removal of the Democratic-leaning parts, it's a real challenge. I think it was a mistake to create two safe GOP assembly district in this area. It was possible to do otherwise.

4. from what I hear, she has an even chance
rumor has it there's a big media buy this weekend for Strickland. But the numbers look great especially if they get the newly registered to show up.

5. She's best chance..
Ferial is our best chance to strike at the heart of the Republican beast in Ventura County this time around. I only hope we didn't trip to this potential too late.

Worse case scenario: Audra Strickland gets elected on her termed out hubby's name recognition, and we'll have to wait a few years to pick her off. She is such a whack job, it should be like shooting fish in a barrel.
