I met Assembly member Lori Salda鎙 last night at her open house

This is my first face-to-face contact with her. I gave her my opinions about reforming our justice system, reducing prison populations, abolishing the death penalty (all to save money) and using the savings to improve California schools.

I was impressed with her candor and listening skills. She gave me realistic feedback about the prospects for rolling back Three Strikes and capital punishment.

She's term-limited out for the next election, but now I kind of regret not getting to know her and her staff earlier. I was preoccupied with city-level politics.
