Rash of home burglaries occurring all over San Mateo Co.!
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 05:37 PM by laugle
It happened to me 2 weeks ago. I was asleep when I heard a loud noise. I got up and found a large cement cinder block in my living room. The burglar had thrown it through my sliding glass door. He was just about ready to open the door when he saw me and ran. Thank goodness........

The police came, but didn't catch him. That night, I got a note in my mail box from a neighbor one block down. She was alerting people to the fact that 3 homes, including her home, were also hit. With a little research, and my local Pacifica paper, police beat section, I came to find that the whole county is experiencing these burglaries, there was even a burglary/shooting a few blocks away. I tried to find the article on the internet and found it was pulled in 2 places. I know of at least 12 in my area in the last month. Normally, burglaries are very low in our area/city. To say there is a cover-up would be an understatement!

People are being burglarized while they are at work and also when they are asleep. Most of them have had there windows/glass doors broken.

The police are trying to keep things very quite. I live in a very nice coastal town with neighbors that have lived on my block for 40 years, they say nothing like this has happened.

We have installed an ADT security system, but still don't feel safe in our own home. If you think it can't happen to you, think again!

Please understand, I am not an alarmist, but the public needs to be warned. A sliding door is no longer safe, unless you have a security system.

Thanks for listening, take every precaution necessary to secure your home and property!

Things are getting very scary out there!

1. I live in the hills of Marin...
and I have heard enough of this, as well.

I am now locking my doors at night for the first time, ever.

I advise you to do some research in your area, and try to find out the truth!

I just read my local Police Beat today, and it's still occurring here. But they only listed a few of the burglaries, mine was not even in there..........

So far, I have checked only my county, and found it's occurring in Pacific, South S.F., San Bruno and Millbrae. These are all nice middle-class area's. Also, cars are being hit-up for I-pods/computers. They are making out with thousands of dollars in property, cash and credit cards.

Please take every precaution. My ADT system is only $35.99 per month, well worth the piece of mind! Afterall, how much is our security worth, priceless, I say................

Andre Jamil Townsend, 29, had been shot at least once before his son arrived at their home on the 3700 block of Radburn Drive about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, police Sgt Joni Lee. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

4. Thanks for the link! I read some of the comments,
as you know, SSF is very similar to Pacifica. The comments sound like people are really living in denial.

I'm sorry, but I posted this because things are not the same as they used to be.

I say forewarned is forearmed, that's why I hope the public will be alerted by the people! With the financial problems of this country getting worse, I don't expect things to get better anytime soon.................

We all know that city's are strapped for cash, and we don't have enough police anymore.

And for heaven's sake's people, keep your money in the bank/safe deposit box. I freak out when I hear people buying a safe or talking about putting their money under the mattress.....what a red flag that is.................If they have a gun, you will be opening that safe real fast!

5. they aren't in denial about the murder
it is the first homicide in OVER one year for SSF, so let's put this in perspective. property crimes appear to be going up, but we've not become Brazil and simply in denial about it.

7. Do you or your family live in Pacifica?
I'm in the Fairmont area, and can give you some of the streets being hit, if you need it. But, the whole city is experiencing it, areas include, Linda Mar, Park Pacifica and Pedro.

Stay safe............

8. More San Mateo and Westborough.
But, I did make the calls last night to one of my uncles, to my brother and also to my son who is on the border.

Thanks so much for the information. It looks like people are taking advantage of how distracted we are right now.

:hi:
