Jack Gordon, a legendary longtime Florida state senator, died Saturday from injuries suffered when he was struck by a car Friday in his winter home of Palm Desert, police and family members said.
"Jack was a tower of strength in the Democratic Party," said Stuart Lynn, president of Democrats of the Desert.

The Miami Herald called Gordon "a champion for civil rights, higher education and for 20 years the unabashedly liberal conscience of Florida's state Senate."

"He was the most brilliant political and moral mind I ever met," said friend Norman Mark of Palm Desert.
Sounds like he was a cool guy . We'll miss poiticians like this.
