1. Even if it passes
it will be an uphill battle. Going up against the wine industry. We might as well face the facts, that we're fighting a losing a battle. Even if it passes, it will probably overturned in a court.

2. Vote against GMOs
Join Mendocino County!! Do not give up!! The big companies want you to say, "It's no use." I don't want to eat them and they will contaminate any other crops in the area. The only way to make one is to attack a gene with a virus. I want real food, thank you.

3. My concern (maybe naive) is not about eating the GM food
but rather, the monopoly that companies like Monsanto can employ to destroy all of the small farmers.

Haven't there been cases like that, where seeds blew to neighboring farms and Monsanto demanded royalties? Or, what a minute, are GM crops sterile? See, I'm relatively naive about this

5. GM crops are not sterile.
They will contaminate your crops. Monsanto is the company that wants you to accept GMOs. Do you think they are looking out for you?

12. GE foods passed with a NO, Here comes MONSANTO.
This was a confusing issue for voters when No meant Yes (for GE) and Yes meant no. I warned those Yes people they'd better advertise on TV, but no-o-o-o, they didn't have the money (that had Brazillions. The measure was put together too quickly and was a mistake to put with Ahnold's crap because voters just voted NO on everything. They thought if they got some tractor protester's that would do the trick. Naive, so naive.

MONSANTO: The company that gave us AGENT ORANGE. Pay off time.

6. This is important.
It is about corporate rule over our food supply. It's about the right to save your seeds.

8. Do you want to know more?
Check out percyschmeiser.com. He is the Canadian farmer who was sued by Monsanto for violating their patent. The GMO seeds had pollinated his crops. He did not want to plant GMOs. Monsanto won and has ruined Percy's farming. Even in Canada, the courts are owned by the corporations.

10. I hope there is better news in the morning 39% YES, 61% NO
As of 8:06PM PST

Measure M - Genetically
Engineered Organisms
Completed Precincts: 0 of 307
Vote Count Percentage
Yes 29,739 39.8%
No 45,015 60.2%

It looks like they are running about the same percentage that we got here in Butte County with very inexperienced campaign organizers, but we only spent about 1/5 of what Sonoma did. We only got 39% Yes. THe opposition ran a fierce campaign filled with lies.

Both sides had spent about half a million dollars as of a few days ago. Still have to wait for final reports to see the totals.

I am bummed....
