A friend of mine has a cousin heading to TXtomorrow at 3 pm.
We are collecting donations. These donations go straight to the people
at the Atrodome. I live in the Pasadena area and am willing to do a pick-up service if you have anything (item), gift cards or cash you'd like to donate.

I trust this person with my life. I worked on the Kerry campaign with her and I have found her to be complely trustworthy and honest no matter what.

Please look at the list below. If there is something you'd like to donate that isn't on the list, please feel free. I think they were going for items people often don't think of (I added canned goods.)

If you have donations and you would like to me to pick them up, PM me. I can stop by your work, home (we'll meet out in front or on the nearest corner) or a public place. Since most if us are strangers to one another, I won't be offended if you request a publc place, like a park, grocery store or mall.

Please PM me before 10:30 am so I can place you on my schedule of pick-ups.

Thanks DUers!

2. I don't know if there is a thread, but I think there is some truth to that
I had been planning on taking books and toys to people at the Astrodome or Reunion, but I was told they are only taking donations through a few large organizations. They don't want people just showing up with stuff.

3. If they won't take our donations when she shows up,
she will most likely find a smaller organization to take her donations or go to UT Houston and give it to the University's donation barrels.

Nonetheless, it will get to those in need.
