<snip> It’s bad enough that the system that got them elected all these years is suddenly not deemed good enough and they plan to try to gain reentry to office through a back door; but at a time when Democrats have the opportunity to gain ground and take the nation in a new direction, these clear losers want to wade in and muddy the waters against fellow Democrats. That may be pleasing to Republicans, who have their own concerns, but it should anger all Democrats. That’s why it is disappointing to see Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor to announce he will support Lieberman. Disappointing, but not terribly surprising. Even Lieberman’s Connecticut colleague Sen. Chris Dodds joined virtually everyone who is anyone in the Demo-cratic party, save for Colorado Sen. Ken Salazar, in voicing their support for Ned Lamont, who beat Lieberman on mainly an anti-war platform. It may or may not hurt Pryor in Arkansas next time he runs, but he needs to watch closely to see how the nation votes in November, especially if they hand people like McKinney and Lieberman their heads - again. Regardless, if Pryor gets within kissing distance of President Bush, he needs to run like a scalded dog. That’s what Lieberman should have done."
