UA Class of 79. Is Roger's Rec still on Dickson Street in the Heart of Shuler Town? How bout Collier Drug? When I was in High School the Mall was brand new and Sears was the first and for awhile the only store there (70-71.) Springdale was a long trip back then. Ole for Jose's!! Zorro and the Blue Footballs? Cate Brothers? George's Majestic Lounge? George's Top Hat? Fayetteville is definitely a DU Town.
3. Roger's Rec, George's, Collier's, and Jose's are all still here.
Don't know about Zorro and the Blue Footballs. Think the Cate Bros. are still around as well. Fayetteville's still growing and there are tons of restaurants up at Joyce & 71. Gotten a little snotty...can't smoke in any restaurant and any bar that serves food!
was an outstanding band, used to play on Dickson Street all the time. How bout the Hushpuppy Restaurant out by the old Drive In Movie on the interstate bypass? Can't remember the highway it was on. I lived in Farmington when I went to College and interned for Channel 29 (KTVP - abc affiliate at the time.) There is a Super Walmart on 62 west of town where there used to be a drive in Movie Theater. I remember it extremely well. Aaaahhh, the memories.
6. Only drive-in left is on 112. You wouldn't recognize Dickson St.
the Restaurant-on-the-Corner is gone and a huge, yuppie-like, multi-layed building takes up the whole block! It has stores on the first level and condos above, topped with a penthouse! Hushpuppy's is gone as well.
I'm thinking about 15yrs now. The old 62 Drive In is gone also. The only one left is the 112 Drive In. Do you remember King Pizza on Dickson? That was some fine pizza.
