last year when there were wildfires in Oklahoma and tornados in Arkansas but just a hanful were sent out. And I'm not sure if any made it down to the Gulf Coast; now, there are thousands upon thousands of travel trailers also being stored at Hope (in addition to the mobile homes that have remained immobile) as they've been returned from use along the Gulf Coast. (They're also being sold in lots, the supposedly damaged ones, at the GSA's auction Website.) I'm sure someone will have to light a fire under FEMA's posterior to get them moving again. To his credit, Ross has yelled about this for well over a year now. He got legislation passed last year that instructs FEMA to make them available for the "public good" -- as in donations to municipalities or nonprofit organizations where they can be of use for those in need; but FEMA, from I've seen, has really dragged on actually implementing that and developing a coherent policy. I hope the good folks of Dumas are doing okay.
