Out of all of this
I fear for Education.

the next 2 FY budgets are not going to be pretty. Considering the Republican Legislature's 2 Get out of Jail Free cards going down in flames.

There will be some long faces in my program at ASU, it's the first on the chopping block at Herberger(I've seen the report), too bad it was rated #5 in the nation...

Tomorrow I will begin to pick up the pieces and find a Plan B.

God save our Education.

1. Huppenthal as SPI will make things much worse
He is not a friend of public education. He likes the Florida model - all the testing but not the financial support. Teachers graded solely on student test scores. Anti-union. Pro-charter, pro-private, pro-voucher (tuition tax credit, same thing).

It won't be pretty.

2. Education is one more example of undermining any step forward
I don't get it. Less than a year ago, voters chose to support schools with a tax hike. And then this. It's hard to believe voters really wanted to continue the bad policies and economy of the previous decade. What are voters (not) thinking?

3. We all really need to stay involved, and keep our eyes and ears opened.
We have another election in two years, and we need to try and reverse the damage.

4. "hope" and "change"?
If "kill your grandma" and "beheadings in the desert" doesn't work, it's hard to believe anything will. This election was so off the wall and yet it worked. Logic, reason, common sense are optional in Arizona. I just wish I didn't have a worthless house and I could afford to move.
