1. Holy Jesus H. Christ - I just read this link and...
it is terribly shocking. How HOW h o w could any bunch of human beings, citizens of the United States, say things like this. I am highly incensed at this flyer and the indecency of these FUCKING "CHRISTIANS" - excuse me but I needed to type that! They are NOT "christians." They are scum, human turds to be spat upon and chastised and flogged. I hope they ALL rot in hell. Piss on the Westboro Baptist Church and all it's members. May their childen die horrible deaths. Please God - show your true colors.
Let us pray!

2. I believe one or two of Phelps' children have repudiated him and...
...his so-called religion. The rest of his family, however, remains loyal and, in fact, comprises the majority of his congregation.

From your post, I assume that you were not previously familiar with Phelps and his "protests." He's been around since 1955 but he made his biggest headlines when he showed up at Matthew Shepard's funeral, a few years ago. As I said in another thread, Phelps merely says what all right wing fundies believe but are afraid to say out loud. They're all disgusting cockroaches.

3. There are a lot of right-wing fundies in my family, but
none of them would ever say such awful things or take part in those hateful Hitler-type character-destroying rallies. Didn't know Phelps was that old. Pray that he disappears soon into a nursing home where he can browbeat other patients for any deviant sexual activities he may imagine. And my apologies for the Phelps children who have "seen the light." But I'm still shaken from yesterday's double-whammy of seeing the Indonesian devestation and reading the Phelps "newsletter" posted here.

4. I posted the link as a "heads up" to any Tucsonans who might want to...
...counter-protest, as is usually done when Phelps hits the road. I didn't post the newsletter.

By the way, Phelps should also be called to the carpet for his recent declaration thanking God for the tsunamis because they killed gays from Sweden who were on vacation in Thailand.

And I stick by my assertion that all right wing fundies are alike. In denying gays their civil rights, they deny them their humanity. If your relatives don't believe in that, then they're not really right wing fundies--by my definition, anyway.

Peace

5. What logic (Phelps thanking God for tsunamis)
The man is truly warped.
Just wondering - did he thank God for the murder of that little blond girl in denver - cant remember name now - just because she kissed her babysitter who was a lesbian? Same logic.

6. Didn't Show
Looks like the brave "reverend" and his followers chickened out. It was reported by the local news that these Xtians changed their minds, and that they might come from under their rocks in March.

I'm thinking of buying about 6 disposable cameras and taking photos of his Tuscon supporters and putting their pictures on the internet.

7. Good idea...
...regarding the cameras.

By the way, for the more religiously minded here, would celebrating the deaths of innocents rise to the level of blasphemy against the holy spirit (i.e. unforgivable)? If not, where would it rank on the level of religious sins?
