Unless you're one of the proud and the few who have entered this year's Great Alaska Chili Challenge at the Alaska State Fair, though -- and win -- how can you be sure your chili is the best, or even good?

Unless you're one of the 25 hardy souls who will arrive in Palmer on the morning of Sept. 3, naked but for their clothes, a few utensils, some food and an appliance. While they dare to bare all for the world to taste, you will remain just one of those poor, gray, timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat. Standing alone, valiant in your darkness.

4. The very best part of the fair, IMO...

Although I also like the big veggies and the alpacas. Angel's Empanadas were my favorite, but I don't think they were there last year...I can't remember.

Gotta have cilantro added to it, but that's me! :P

I'm not sure which day I'm gonna go out there.. (hopefully it'll be sunny ) ..but I can't wait to see that record kazillion pound pumpkin someone grew! :wow:
