1. Those are some seriously nasty poll numbers
I wonder what questions they asked and how many people.

4. When he chose the person to succeed him as Senator
Murkowski decided the best qualified candidate was -- his daughter, who had nearly zip experience.

Does that help? Of course, the fact that the GOP controls the Alaskan legislature might have something to do with Murkowski's being governor...

8. hurmmmm
Frank won because there are numerically more Republican in Alaska than there are Democrats...lots more....

plus the Dems are not organized well.
we have no dynamic or charismatic leaders (maybe anchorage mayor mark begich)
and the greens sow so much discord among the party...that the liberal vote is diluted and weak...the greens actually had a very popular native woman on the last gubernatorial ticket...effectively neutralizing the native vote for Tony Knowles...

etc etc etc...

I see a governorship in his future, ala Tony Knowles.

12. Not Knowles
I am sure that somewhere within the Democratic Party of Alaska, there MUST be someone better than Knowles. If that's the best you have to offer, then I don't see a Democrat in the Governor's house for the foreseeable future.

But don't mind me, I feel the same way about ALL of the usual suspects in ALL of the parties.

18. Sorry can't do that
Anyone that says that they vote for the party and not the candidate is nothing more than a drone. If that is who you really want here then I guess I'm not in the right place for true progressive thinkers. I 'generally' support the Democratic ideals, sorry if that isn't good enough.

20. that's how i vote
Fine, that's how you vote. It's automatic, done without thought or consideration for the particular candidate. Sorry, that souns like a drone to me.

I hear people tell me all the time, they vote for one party or another becuase that's the way the family has always voted. Others say they vote based on who their union or church recommends, or vote for someone because they are a minority, or a woman, or based on one issue.

If you agree 100% with everything that the Democratic party says and does, and you want to reward their good soldiers with your vote, then go right ahead. But don't expect others to simply fall in line without any critical analysis of the actual candidates and their positions on issues considered most important to them.

22. You'd choose Begich over Berkowitz?
I don't know if I'd agree OR disagree...they are both good candidates as I see it.

What's your case for Begich?

23. lot of ifs in your question....
so far begich is not running...i would vote for ethan over croft...i think begich may run...not this election but the next...andif he runs i will vote for him...i think he is the better politician and i base his on my personal contact and conversations with both...ethan just does not have the killer instinct...he's great...but banal...don't get me wrong...when ethans the candidate i will be happy to vote for him...choosing between the two is like choosing between my children....i love the both...but sometimes for different reasons...

smarter and more capable on their worst day than most people are on their best. They are solid union too.
