Anybody watching the debates?
So far, in the Senate debate, Ted's looking a bit Captain Queegy, seems to me. What does anybody else think?

1. I got about the last 10 minutes
of Berkowitz/Young and all of Begich/Stevens. Ted looks very tired and sounds delusional. What does he mean he "hasn't been convicted"? I've got news for you, Ted -- yes, you have. Seven times.

2. It was sad to see Ted like that, in a way.
Edited on Fri Oct-31-08 02:31 AM by Ken Burch
For the first time ever, it looked like he was begging the voters not to reject him, rather than simply assuming reelection was his due. His dignity was gone.

Somewhere, inside, he probably wishes he'd just not run again. He'd never admit that publicly, but I think that's there.

3. I agree, it's sad.
If he had been thinking ahead, he would have retired in 2002 while his reputation was still intact and he would have been revered forever, kind of like Jay Hammond. I have no doubt he loves Alaska, and of course he has done a ton of good for the state, but his downfall is thinking that he's the ONLY one who can do good things for the state. As anyone who has ever left a job knows, we're ALL replaceable.

5. I watched both of them last night...
But I had just returned from a super quick down to Florida and was dead tired so I never did log onto this place to discuss it. After the 2nd debate I just faded off to sleep..

This was the second debate that I've seen Don and Ethan in and I thought Ethan did a great job this time. The mayor also did great with stuttering Ted.

The arrogance of both Ted and Don is disgusting and I can't wait until both of them are HISTORY!!
