1. Bugs Bunny must've had
Don Young in mind when he said, "What a maroon!"

How much more DY dumb stuff will it take before he gets voted out of office? Are all Alaskans hibernating or what?

2. I think he's just a bad habit
a lot of people don't know how to break. I sure did my best to get him thrown out last time.

3. I wish Diane would have won too... but still - next time..

..we seriously need to put someone up against him that can't just do really good --- but someone who will flat out kick his ass.

I love Diane. But you guys know as well as I do ---- that opposing ANWR ---- even if the candidate has changed their mind --- is political suicide here. ...It just is.

Young was able to bring up the fact that Diane switched from the Green Party over to the Democratic Party.. and he was able to constantly remind voters that at one time she opposed drilling in the Arctic Refuge.

Even though she said "the voters have spoken and I'll abide by that" -- there's probably always going to a certain amount of doubt by just enough voters to make that difference. Too many people here don't vote with their heart, they vote with their dividend check in mind... $$$

The next time that bastard Don Young runs (unless we find a way to boot him before then) -- I hope someone runs like Eric Croft, Ethan Berkowitz, Johnny Ellis, Fran Ulmer... (or maybe Blue, Ken, Denali, Ahgoo, Cleofus, etc... )

If Diane ran for a local seat first and was able to let statewide residents get to know her better that way.. I think they'd be less paranoid about her past opposition to ANWR. Have we EVER elected anyone to a statewide office that opposed drilling?

As far as creepy Don Young, did channel 2 cover it? My kid is watching Lord of the Rings and I have the Aces game on the station that airs the news when the Aces aren't playing.. so I missed it.

I'll watch the 10pm news..

4. Channel 2 did cover it...
Don Young says he will no longer attribute the quote to Abraham Lincoln; however, he agrees with the sentiment, except for the hanging part. Big of him.

My husband and I were just talking today about one of those you mentioned running against Don next time, as you say someone who isn't such a "leftie." Any of the ones you mentioned would be great. I personally would love to see Fran Ulmer take him on, since she got robbed of the governorship.
