Freepers turning against O'Reilly
O"Reilly Wants President Bush to Apologize Friday Night
Me

Posted on 10/07/2004 10:41:05 AM PDT by JonDavid

Bill O'Reilly suggested today on his radio show that President Bush should apologize at the Presidential debate Friday for no Iraq WMD. If the President Bush did this in the way that O'Reilly wants him to, the President would be making a major gaffe. I could see the sound bites. President Bush has NOTHING TO APOLOGIZE FOR. Also, O'Reilly says that Bush has to clearly win Friday or it’s over. He keeps on saying that the race is tied. IMHO, O'Reilly is spinning on several fronts: At the very least he is trying to get Kerry on his show, so he is pandering. The Electoral College Polls shows the President with a sizable lead. National Polls mean little. O'Reilly knows if the President says I am sorry for Iraq it would be political suicide. Again, think of the soundbite the Democrats would have. This would help Kerry. The President on Friday night needs to address Kerry’s record and recent Global Test statements. So why O’Reilly on his radio program the day before the Presidential debates is highlighting the Iraq WMD instead of focusing on Kerry’s record? He is doing this because that’s the only hope Kerry has. If O’Reilly was really a no spinner and WAS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU he would have STRESSED SUBSTANCE OVER STYLE and endorsed President Bush after Kerry’s Global Test and other policy statements after the last debate. So deep down, O'Reilly is rooting for Kerry. The latest Iraq WMD report clearly shows t that Saddam’s endgame was to get the Sanctions lifted and then restart his WMD programs. According to the report, SADDAM WANTED NUCLEAR WEAPONS!! It’s the intent. That’s why Saddam had to be removed form power. I also, believe that the WMD were moved into other countries, like Syria.

4. The only reason Bill is now saying these kinds of things
Is because he bought it all and now looks like the fool he really is. All of the media has egg on its face and I doubt we get apologies from any of them. The way they treated Scott Ritter and anyone else who dared questioned the fearless leader was ridiculous.

5. Politically
If Bush did apologize wouldn't that pretty much sink him? This election has been and will be about motivating the base. Admitting error would just destroy him with a lot of his base that praises his "decisiveness."

So I think they are right on that point; and for that reason, I would love to see President Bush apologize on Friday night.

6. Freepers want it both ways:
"If O’Reilly was really a no spinner and WAS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU he would have STRESSED SUBSTANCE OVER STYLE and endorsed President Bush"

So, which is he? Is he not a spinner? Or is he looking out for the right wing base?

7. And the pathetic "they were moved to Syria" line.
If that is teh case then Bush seriously needs to be fired. If we ahd so much attention focused in Iraq and he still let teh NBC weapons through then he is even more af a complete fuckup than any of us have ever said.

15. I think Kerry should apologize.
He should apologize for repeating intelligence that came through the white house without vetting it himself.

It would not harm Kerry but would force Bush to apologize or not apologize, both of which are bad for Bush.

18. Kerry's speech when voting on the Iraq Resolution...
"Every nation has the right to act preemptively, if it faces an imminent and grave threat, for its self-defense under the standards of law. The threat we face today with Iraq does not meet that test yet. I emphasize "yet." But it is not imminent, and no one in the CIA, no intelligence briefing we have had suggests it is imminent. None of our intelligence reports suggest that he is about to launch an attack." (John Kerry, October 9, 2002)

21. Yeah, that's a good speech
And it contains some statements that Iraq had WMD. He should apologize for those types of statements - he could say the part you just said, and continue, "But I also said, because I believed ..."

However, if everyone does feel I've been posting to much about their stupidity over there I can cut down. I'll only post and report scams that they are trying. It is just something about them during this meltdown state that is very funny.

23. The meltdown in freeperville
makes me laugh. Usually I feel kinda bad for folks who are hoist on their own petard--or publicly humiliate themselves. Not now though. The only thing better than seeing the implosion by the freeps on the first debate in real time was watching Bush try to pretend he wasn't a completely useless ass.

But if others want you to cut back I won't argue--even though it saves me from having to wade through the freep BS myself....
